Herkules...Who is he?
|
 He may not be a Greek god, but, Herkules has a smooth, melodic, and some would say hypnotic voice for radio which is strongly supported by his Greek god-like good looks and sexy swagger. He has the God-given passion and drive to be the best on-air personality in the history of radio. It’s as if he were born to do radio. As a child, by listening to music with his father, Herkules learned to appreciate legendary artist and groups like Marvin Gay, James Brown, The Commodores, and The Ohio Players.
This was also the time in which he discovered the man that would later become his mentor, the “Green Eyed Bandit,” Donnie Simpson. Herk had his first radio experience in college. But, it was during 2005 as the host of “Afternoon Gridlock” with WWHV-FM (Hot 102.1) in Virginia Beach, VA that propelled Herkules into becoming the on-air personality that he is today. Herkules held down the spot of one of the nation’s hottest afternoon shows. Today, Herk is on-air at Washington, DC’s number 1 Station --WPGC-FM alongside his childhood idol, Donnie Simpson.
Herkules is not only talented as a radio personality but in 2006 he expanded his talent as he became a Correspondent for the Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) Black College Tour; the AIDS awareness series “Rap It Up!”; and, host of their Teen Forums. In 2007, Herk was busy touring as the host of the Vibe Magazine Hoops-N- Hip Hop Basketball Tour as well as the host for TV One’s Celebrity Chef G. Garvin in the Kraft Kitchen for the Ebony Black Family Tour. He has long been one of the most sought after club host not only because his good looks will draw in the ladies but because he is one the best Host in the country. Herkules has a way of pumping up the crowd and making them dance as if there were no tomorrow. Herk will also be writing articles on the internet site My Voice DC. Com.
Herkules sees himself as becoming the ultimate entertainer like Doug E. Fresh whose style and skills he admires tremendously. Few know that as “Herk” was preparing to enter high school, he had a life changing experience. He was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and was given very little time to live. Because he triumphed in this experience, Herkules draws on the belief that not a minute in his life should be taken for granted and that we are all here to help someone else. This is the driving force for his forthcoming Herkules World Foundation which will assist the families of sick children who have mounting bills and expenses due their child’s illness. His name Herkules stems from the fact that he is avid about health, fitness, & wellness.
In 2008, Herk plans to introduce his health, fitness, & wellness initiative and limited personal training services. And while he is involved in all of these things, Herkules still makes time to volunteer as a mentor to middle school children in DC public schools and teaches Radio Broadcast & Performance for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. |
