The real question here is how she got past her mom and dad and made it down the street in this get up.....
05/13/2008 10:54AM
Wow... You're right..
That dress is a bit over the edge. She was asking for attention and got it.
05/13/2008 11:02AM
skimpy prom dress
Ridiculus! How did she get out of the house w/that on?
05/13/2008 11:11AM
That's Crazy
I agree, the dress was out there. But to handcuff this child was not even called for. Make her leave the prom.
05/13/2008 11:19AM
No class
That poor girl has no idea how silly dressing like that is. Not only was the dress ridiculously skimpy, but it was tasteless and just plain ugly.
05/13/2008 11:22AM
Self Respect
Absolutely NO Self Respect...The blame lies with her parents/custodian
05/13/2008 11:25AM
prom dress
she has a right to express herself, but damn her dress is screaming for attention
05/13/2008 11:38AM
Sad state of events
I will say that the dress in definitely inappropriate, but police intervention, is completely unnecessary. In order to avoid such altercations, if there was a dress code for the prom, banding revealing attire, she should have been made aware of the dresscode prior to the prom, but if not she should have received a refund for ticket in all fairness.
05/13/2008 11:45AM
YOU CALL THAT A DRESS!
I think in this day and age these young women have no respect for themselves or others. The meaning of a prom dress has been demoralized by young women as herself. You can wear a nice even sexy looking dress without showing ass much skin as this young woman showed. Yes I think it was appropriate to put her out of the prom because the dress was TOO SKIMPY & INAPPROPRIATE. Just as the schools have a dress code so should the prom.
05/13/2008 11:51AM
Damw
She's fine! lol
05/13/2008 11:56AM
TRASHY
NO SELF RESPECT
05/13/2008 12:10PM
Dressing Our Women
It's a shame at this late day and age, that young women just don't know how to dress appropriately for such an occassion. This is truly lack of education.

Prom or Night onthe Town?
The dress is a bit much for a prom, especially since the idea of a prom is to dress up, not dress down. If they change it to just a night on the town she can pull it off, but my daughter, oh hellz no!
05/13/2008 12:32PM
her guardian
take their behind to jail or fine them or something. this is ridiculous for a young lady to do and have permission to do it by whoever is raising her.
05/13/2008 12:38PM
lets keep it real
we all have seen women dressed worst than that. i am not saying that this is the most appropriate dress for a young lady to be wearing to a prom but a lot of you are acting like you dont see this all the time. it is sad that she had to be arrested for this. she will look back on this day years from now and say to herself that that was not a good choice in dresses. fellas what makes it kool for a woman to wear that dress to the club and not the prom. is it because she is 17. you know you would have been all over her at love. so lets keep it real
05/13/2008 12:48PM
TO EACH HIS OWN
If you go to the beach you see more than that. Let nature take its course, she will evenually realize her mistakes. GOD HAVE PLANS FOR EVERYONE. DONT JUDGE.
05/13/2008 12:58PM
The Rules
Most all high schools have rules in place CLEARLY defining approriate attire and I am sure she was aware of this prior to showing up with this dress. Her parents should have stopped her long before she made it to the prom. Having her mid-section out isn't so bad, however, the material covering her bust is so thin and flimsy, it could easily be displaced and exposing her breast. I work with a company that does the photgraphs for proms and all too often we have to turn students away from getting professional photographs taken b/c our lab would consider that child pornography and not develop it.
Sorry she missed her prom, but this is something she and her family could have avoided.
05/13/2008 1:09PM
OH NO!
Who in their right mind would allow their 17 year to walk out of the house in that(yet alone have that made). All she needs is a pole and some dollars thrown at her. She looks trampy. Where are the values and self respect anymore?????
05/13/2008 1:10PM
Wow...what is the world coming to?
This is not a dress!! How could she possibly think it was appropriate to wear out in the street maybe on a couture runway because things like that never see the light of day after being worn on stage. Heaven forbid she try to get lowww...everyone will see her unmentionables.
05/13/2008 1:25PM
38% of the people just lost they darn minds!
Okay. At this point, 63% of us have voted in this poll that the dress was inappropriate. The majority of that same 63% would probably actually say that the dress is beyond inappropriate. But what I am so mad about is the 38% that have voted in this poll that the dress was appropriate. What is wrong with that 38%?! Obviously, very much!
05/13/2008 2:03PM
umm..ok
while I do believe that the dress was a bit much...well too much- that's my opinion..just like it's obvious that it was her and her parents opinion to think otherwise. We are not in the position to judge that girl or her family based on one outfit...regardless as to how tacky and inappropriate we may feel that it is. It is unfortunate that with so much real news going on ( and real reasons to be outraged) this child and her outfit managed to make it on not one but three different radio stations in the DMV- not to mention however many times it may have been aired in Houston and and youtube.
05/13/2008 2:04PM
Over the edge
Yes, her dress was inappropriate. However, if the principal was enforcing a dress code for the prom, all students should have been made aware of the dress code before hand. Also the students should have been told in advance that if they showed up and their prom attire was tagged as being inappropriate, they would be turned away, with out a refund.
Her parents or guadians didn't see her before she left for the prom????
Who paid to have this dress made???
I am confused on why nd how does this young woman she this dress as appropriate or even attractive???
We need to pray for our young people because they have no clue!!!!!!
05/13/2008 2:05PM
Job well done!
By the school staff and other adults. The little girl got out of line and got what she deserved. She probably got out of control and the cops put her in cuffs to protect themselves and her. If she did not act out and went home and changed like the staff probably told her.She would have got in. I do not feel sorry for her. She got what she deserved.
05/13/2008 2:16PM
slutish!!!
She should go back home and start over!!!
05/13/2008 2:30PM
WHAT
The dress was not appropriate for her senior prom but its not her fault it's her parents. What's wrong with her mother? She agree's with the dress, she's probably a young mother and dress just like her daughter.
05/13/2008 2:54PM
The Bigger Picture
Are we failing to see the Big picture? We live
in a culture that has elected to expell religion from our schools, allow our kids to be exposed to so much material which have heavy adult content (movies, videos, music) all of which have a negative effect on them. So now we're shocked by because this young lady wants to immitate the those things that she's been exposed to? Who really has the problem here? Has anybody stopped to notice that our young woman dress close to this on a daily basis going to school? And let's not forget where this incident took place.
Texas! Her actions weren't criminal so why the handcuffs? So in my humble opinion the problem isn't the young lady or her dress, It society as a whole. Oh, one other thing; for those of you who chose to critize the young lady, I would suggest that you take a good look your own extended families. I'm sure you'll find some body dressing just like this or worse, maybe even the same dress. Love and Peace to my WORLD FAM. "T" from B-more.
05/13/2008 3:37PM
Wrong, Wrong and So Wrong
She has a tattoo at what 17-18 yrs old. Then this dress what was wrong with her Parents. She wouldn't have gotten that dress made let alone gotten out my house.
05/13/2008 3:44PM
NO DRESS
I, personally don't really care what teens wear but I do believe that whatever it is should be in good taste and appropiate for the occassion. This to me didn't exhibit any taste at all not only that it was totally inappropiate. The only other thing I have to say is GOD HELP US ALL, THIS IS A FUTURE LEADER. Where is this girl's parents I would just like to hear their comments.
05/13/2008 3:48PM
WHAT EVER
IF THAT'S THE CASE LOCK ALL OF THEM UP
05/13/2008 3:49PM
Her parents
Her parents are crazy.
05/13/2008 4:17PM
leave her alone!
Truth be told the girl could have done a lot worse. She was trying to be different and have something no one else had, whats wrong with that? now i'm not denying the fact that her dress was indeed over the edge, but she was just trying to express herself. I say the staff could have at least let her take her pictures because in all actuality it was her senior prom! who wants to miss that?? Everyone is quick to judge the girl and her backsround ((parents)) but at the same time people aren't perfect and there is a such thing as a lapse of judgement. why is it okay for older women to wear this, but then you expect youth not to do the same thing? Think about it people. In the end the whole situation could have been handled a lot better, and really i'm on her side with this one, if she couldn't go to prom then she could have gotten her money back. At least she tried to compromise and cover up, but the school still wasn't for it.
What ever happened to compromise?? I guess thats just not enough...
05/13/2008 4:25PM
DAMN!
I hope she had a better hairdo than want she had in the TV interview..if you going to pimp the dress..at least have your makeup and hair right!!
05/13/2008 4:47PM
it's not that bad
i've been hearing a lot about this dress. when i finally had time to view it, i thought it was going to be a super mini skirt with two band-aids. we have seen far worst than at award shows and at the clubs. she actually had the body for it and none ofher private body part were revealed. i just think we pay too much attention to issues that don't concern us.
05/13/2008 5:18PM
mistake?
maybe she thought it was HO Prom!
05/13/2008 5:18PM
dont blame her
dont blame her blame the parents no way my child would have gotton pass me in the trashy dress!
05/13/2008 5:26PM
to skinny
it was to small i dont think that her parents should have let her get that dress made and walk out the house like that
05/13/2008 5:29PM
Ain't NO DANG WAY!!!
Sorry. but I would like to know who her Parents are???? Did she get any real home trainning???? That's the problem with the Kids today, Young Teens think that they are Adults when they aren't! They need serious up Home Trainning in their life, I have 3Daughter's and there is no way in HELL my kids will walk outta our House like that!!!!
Just CRAZY!!!! All you can do is just PRAY for those Kids!
05/13/2008 6:59PM
No Way
I'm sorry but i don't know what she was thinking.. How did anybody let her out like that? I blame those in her house hold for letting her go out like that.
05/13/2008 7:59PM
no no no
no no no... she know she's wrong.. that is too much.. I can see wanting to be noticed, but damn not like that..
05/13/2008 9:55PM
what prom
THIS DRESS WOULD BE APPROPRIATE AT A STRIP CLUB OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. HER PARENTS MUST BE ONE OF THE KIDS HAVING KIDS AGE GROUP OR SOMETHING. THIS IS SO ALARMING TO SEE AND HEAR.. I SAW MY DAUGHTER AND I RESPECT HER FOR HER DECISIONS AND SHE LOOKED GREAT AND FITTING FOR HER PROM. I DONT KNOW WHO SAW THIS GIRL OFF BUT IT WAS NOT AN ADULT..
05/13/2008 10:31PM
outrageous dress
I want to know where were her parents and why would they let their child come out of the house with that dress. They need to be accountable for it if they let her out the house like that.
05/14/2008 6:41AM
??????
I think they should have sent a letter on to the kids/parents to let the know what they can and can't wear (dress code).
05/14/2008 7:41AM
Crazy
This is crazy. Im so sure she knew what the dress code was for her school. She just set herself up. Alls schools have a dress code. And where were her parents? They let her out like that. But I think that they should have given her the option to go home and change not handcuff her. That was wrong.
05/14/2008 7:42AM
A BIT MUCH
This dress was a bit much but I think the situation was taken out of proportion.
05/14/2008 8:16AM
WHAT HAPPENED TO REGULAR PROM DRESSES
I am 36 years old and I can remember that my prom dress was down to my ankles, all sequin and just really tasteful. The dress is not even a dress really, its a piece of material covering her private areas, thats it. Someone should have told her that she was not " PROM READY" I mean really, her parents should be ashamed of themselves.
05/14/2008 8:17AM
WTF!!!!
Hell naw that aint appropriate for prom. She's calling for the wrong attention. She looks like them pro's on 14th street. She's calling for the wrong attention and I'm pretty sure she got it. What do her paretns have to say? She shouldnt of been arrested tho.
05/14/2008 8:22AM
djhomey
She was not handcuffed because of the dress, she was handcuffed because she was under arrest for disorderly conduct.
05/14/2008 8:24AM
Yeah Aight!
Her parents should have been the one's to get arrested for child endangerment and neglegence! This is NOT a dress for a 17 year old child!
05/14/2008 8:26AM
WOW
I wish I caught my child in that dress i'd stick my so far up her tail that it would come out her my.But they had no right to put that in handcuffs. Also what the hell was that on her head on the interview a road kill?
05/14/2008 8:26AM
Please, give me a break
This is what you see every day!
05/14/2008 8:27AM
Well
It is highly known that for a school prom the dress code is elegant/classy. The dress itself is nice and it compliments her body wonderfully, but it is definatly not appropriate for a school prom. This young lady definatly wanted attention, but I guessshe didnt realize that wearing a dress like that will send the wrong message and people will start to assume diffent things about you. Its funny because most of the females who complain about men disrespecting them, really have themselves to blame.
05/14/2008 8:28AM
My Goodness
That's not even a dress and should not be considered as one. It's more like a two piece outfit. So no I agree she should not have been allowed in the prom. And yes the school does give dress codes for this ocassion. Her parents should be shot!
05/14/2008 8:29AM
What?!?
Oh no honey, no
05/14/2008 8:31AM
less,less,less
This is what happens when your mother is 28, and your grandmother age is 33, and the great-grandmother is 46. Just taste less
05/14/2008 8:37AM
Where are her parents?
Obviously no sane adult condoned this. Where was her mother? Maybe she is emulating her. And where is her dad? It wouldn't surprise me (if he is around) that he encouraged it. Or if her mother's man was in the house, maybe there's more going on with her. She's lost. She doesn't understand how precious she could be. She sees her worth in giving her body to boys (and probably men). That's too bad. Listen to her talk. She doesn't sound educated. Stay tuned. Babies (or more babies) on the way. Someone needs to introduce her to Jesus.
05/14/2008 8:42AM
star power!
look at hollywood, young girls are trying to look like the stars! like lil kim, char!!! hello! people wake up!do as i say not as i do!!!!
05/14/2008 8:43AM
dee
at this time in the world her dress is what people wear on the red carpet alot...i have seen worst on rihanna...what one person sees an inappropriate may not be to another person...i think she was young but i've seen worst and more tasteless
05/14/2008 8:45AM
Don
I don't think it's bad at all I've seen worse.
05/14/2008 8:46AM
Notice, She was alone
The lack of dress was to attract attention, be it male or female.
05/14/2008 8:48AM
Judge Not
While my daughter would not have worn that ANYWHERE, who are we to judge. My comment is to the parent/guardian....be mindful of the fact that it is our job to teach our children what is appropriate.
05/14/2008 8:59AM
Where is her Momma?
I cannot believe a mother would allow her daughter to exit the house in t
