Hello Justine,
What makes a man or woman get to the point where they don't want to get involved with anyone? Is it because they've been hurt to many times or is it because they are scared? I have a friend that says they want to stay single for the rest of there life. Is this normal? Wouldn't a person get lonely?

You are right on both points. Hurt and Scared! Sometimes people do not want to get involved with someone who is actively pursuing them and they don’t know how to tell them they are not interested.
Nobody wants to be rejected or be the source of that rejection so we make up excuses without being honest.
Lonely, what make you think that they are lonely. They might be very satisfied with their status and maybe they are trying to get themselves together so that they can be a happier and healthier person.
Please do not think because they have chosen to be single that something is wrong. That person might just be in place of reflection and taking care of their emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
If people waited to get themselves together instead of jumping into another relationship we wouldn’t have so many unhappy and hurt people.
